Mini golf courses are known for crazy courses and eccentric structures. From erupting volcanoes to cheering barnyard critters, these United States mini golf courses are a trip by themselves—and a perfect addition to any itinerary, if you’re in the area.
Congo River Mini Golf
At Congo River Golf, adventure awaits at every turn. The award-winning course offers exploration of waterfalls and summits, caves and rainforests. But the adventure begins at the entrance, where golfers can feed live alligators and even have a photo taken with one.
North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
The 50-foot active volcano at Molten Mountain erupts every 30 minutes—shooting three fireballs 50 feet into the air and rocks tumbling down. One of the holes challenges mini-golfers to hit the ball over a stream of lava.
Par-King Skill Golf
Dubbed “The World’s Most Unusual Golf Course,” Par-King Skill Golf might require more technique than real golf. The 75,000-square-foot complex boasts 19 moving obstacles, including a roller coaster-eque Super Looper Hole, a Statue of Liberty and a 15-foot model of Chicago’s Willis Tower—complete with an elevator for a golf ball.
Ripley’s Old MacDonald’s Farm Mini-Golf
Old MacDonald had a farm—and on that farm, he had 54 holes of golf. Old MacDonald’s Farm Mini-Golf by Ripley’s Believe It or Not! features animated barnyard characters that cheer and jeer at golfers.
Wild Abyss 3D Mini Golf
Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin
Wilderness Resorts is home to a miniature golf course that really pops. If the blacklight, intense graphics and 3-D glasses aren’t wild enough, Wild Abyss also features huge tropical aquariums with a variety of sea creatures and fish.
