The first 24-hour news network—CNN—forever changed what the news landscape looked like. Students can get an insider’s point of view and all the network has to offer with a CNN Studio Tour at the station’s world headquarters in Atlanta.
On a Behind the Scenes CNN Studio Tour—which started in 1987—students will get an in-depth look at how the world’s largest news organization operates and puts on a live broadcast, from the historic first newscast to the now living legacy. They’ll get to walk the halls of CNN Center and learn how CNN became the worldwide leader in news.
The various tours offered are excellent educational resources that bring news gathering and the production process to life—all while learning the history of CNN. Teachers can also download free STEAM lesson plans to enhance the experience. Curriculum is designed for students grades three through 12 and are always up to date with common core and national curriculum standards for various states. Students are able to make the most out of their visit with pre- and post-visit activities. They’ll create lasting memories and will be learning, every step of the way!
Want to elevate the experience even more? Check out the VIP Tour, which offers expanded access into live newsrooms, the HLN control room and a state-of-the-art studio that CNN uses daily.
While visiting, don’t forget to ask how students can create their own news broadcast in CNN’s custom made studio—Guest Studio One.
