In 2024, the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts proudly marks a decade of enriching the cultural fabric of central Florida and beyond.
More than just a beautifully designed building, the arts center has become a beacon of inspiration, education and entertainment—a true celebration of Arts For Every Life®.
Opened in 2014 on a nine-acre site, the Dr. Phillips Center began with the 2,700-seat amplified hall, Walt Disney Theater; the 300-seat Alexis & Jim Pugh Theater; the DeVos Family Room private event space, and the AdventHealth School of Arts. In 2022, one of the world’s most acoustically perfect and versatile spaces, Steinmetz Hall opened with a capacity of 1,700. The 698,312-square-foot center is also home to the Seneff Arts Plaza, an outdoor community event space.
Now, in February of 2024, comes the fifth venue: Judson’s Live. The new space is inspired by legendary listening rooms from the world’s most iconic music cities. It promises an elevated atmosphere that brings audiences and international, national and regional artists together in a table-style seating environment, accommodating roughly 140 guests.
The Dr. Phillips Center has evolved into a hub for the best international, national and local artists and is truly an inspirational place where people love to be. It serves as a platform for community outreach and arts education, ensuring that the transformative power of the arts is accessible to everyone.
Since opening its doors, the arts center has garnered acclaim beyond local borders. Recognized by Travel + Leisure magazine as one of the “25 New Tourist Attractions Worth Adding to Your Bucket List,” Architectural Digest naming Steinmetz Hall as one of “The 11 Most Beautiful Theaters in the World,” and acknowledged by Southern Living magazine as one of the “50 Best Places in the South Now,” –the center has become a destination in its own right.
From ballet to Broadway, comedy acts to kids’ shows, alongside educational programs to outdoor festivals, the arts center ensures every visit is extraordinary. Join the celebration at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts—a place where the arts come to life, for every life. Here’s to another decade of fostering a love for the arts and creating memories that last a lifetime.
