Myrtle Beach Magic: Student-Friendly Adventures

Mar 19, 2025

Myrtle Beach isn’t just a sun-soaked retreat—it’s a dynamic destination brimming with fresh entertainment, hands-on experiences, and group-friendly attractions.

From eco-tours to interactive learning experiences across the city, Myrtle Beach continues to prove why it’s a top choice for student groups. Here’s what’s new, what’s iconic, and how to make the most of your visit.

What’s new and upcoming in Myrtle Beach for travelers?

We recommend the Greg Rowles Legacy Theater, an entertainment venue that opened last year and brings in national and international musicians for a different show every night.

Also check out Ripley’s Illusion Lab. This interactive experience invites visitors into a world of optical illusions and sensory challenges. Located downtown next to Ripley’s Crazy Golf, the Illusion Lab features a variety of intriguing exhibits that blur the lines between reality and illusion. Guests can explore mind-bending rooms, take part in hands-on activities, and enjoy the playful, educational environment that Ripley’s is known for.

What are some top activities/attractions for student groups?

We have more than 10 shows in town, and the vast majority have preshow performances. Our students also love to experience Murrells Inlet Eco-Tours—and Ripley’s Aquarium offers Fun for Students of All Ages Travel through an underwater world during our field trips. Students will find themselves immersed in discovery of sharks, rays, colorful tropical fish, penguins, and incredible learning experiences. Field trips are self-guided and include access to a range of animal and interactive galleries and daily experiences throughout the aquarium. Classroom programs and cafeteria-style lunches can be added on to field trip reservations for small additional fees and must be reserved to accommodate high demand.

Is there a hidden gem or off-the-beaten-path experience you could suggest for student groups?

Anything else you’d like to say to our readers (those planning student travel)?

Don’t Get Overwhelmed. Planning a trip can be tough, especially if it’s your first time. With so much information out there, it’s hard to know where to start. Once you dive in, it’s easy to get overwhelmed or distracted. That’s why it’s important to stay focused. To make things easier, we will be happy to help you plan your next visit.
