In today’s interconnected world, travel plays a crucial role in expanding students’ horizons and fostering a deeper cultural understanding. Connecting student travelers with the world has never been more important and that’s where Students Fare steps in.
Crafting tailored programs built around disciplines such as art, architecture, literature, manufacturing, history, social sciences, business, technology and LGBTQ+ studies to name a few, our team collaborates with faculty to create in-depth educational experiences to destinations around the world. Whether students are exploring ancient ruins in Greece, learning about LGBTQ+ history in Italy, or studying India’s remarkable architectural heritage, we manage all aspects of the trip—from airfare to accommodations, and everything in between.
Study abroad programs offer a unique opportunity for faculty to extend their curriculum beyond the classroom and with Students Fare, faculty are empowered to take students on academically enriching journeys, designed to align with specific areas of study. Some of the our most recent and most creative programs include:
Byzantine, Ancient Greek and Renaissance Art & Architecture: An exciting 15 day program visiting Istanbul, Athens, Corinth, Mycenae, Delphi, Rome, Florence and Venice. This faculty led program brought students face to face with some of the most important architectural structures ever created including the Hagia Sophia, the Parthenon, Vatican Museums, the Duomo and the Doges Palace. Students engage with local experts and fellow students to further enhance their experience.
Agriculture and Food Distribution Studies in India: A 13 day journey exploring India’s food production and distribution systems. The group visited Bangalore, Mysore, Kochi and Alleppey, where they experienced local traditions and culture. They also received firsthand knowledge by visiting food packing and distribution companies, farms and local artisans and food producers. Students also visit agricultural universities to gain insight into sustainable farming practices and new developments in the growing, packaging and distribution of food.
Queer History: The Life of Oscar Wilde: Walking in the footsteps of the legendary queer author and poet, our weeklong journey visited the place of Wilde’s birth, Dubin, then onto the city where he had both is greatest success and tragedy, London, ending in the city of his passing, Paris. Students stepped into the spaces that impacted Wilde’s life and work, his childhood home in Dublin, the halls of Magdalen College at Oxford, London’s West End and the streets and haunts of his last days in Paris. Students met with other students of literature and queer studies having an opportunity to explore both Wilde’s work and life and the role it plays in queer history and literature.
The success of our programs is the ability of our experts to create and manage these journeys from start to finish. From the first steps of creating an itinerary, to securing each element of the program; flights, insurance, hotels, guides, drivers, local experts and special admissions and meetings our team oversees it all, so the faculty leader can focus on the experience without the burden of coordinating travel details.
Students Fare is committed to creating inclusive, diverse study abroad experiences that reflect the values of both faculty and students. By working closely with local communities and groups, programs are not only academically enriching but also socially responsible. We place a strong emphasis on sustainability and community engagement, supporting local communities and eco-friendly tourism practices.
Our mission is quite straightforward. We want our programs to stimulate students. We want them to excel in their chosen areas of study, have rich and exciting careers and fall in love with travel. And we achieve these goals by combining the knowledge of our faculty leaders with local experts, ground suppliers and the incredible experience of our tour designers.
